UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN KOGNITIF ANAK USIA DINI MELALUI METODE TALKING STICK

This classroom action research is motivated by the lack of cognitive abilities of children so that teachers need to create effective learning to improve children's cognitive abilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of cognitive abilities of group B children in Kober Bina Bhakti Mandiri, Situmekar Village, Cisitu District, Sumedang Regency for the 2022-2023 academic year. The talking stick method is one of the methods used to improve children's cognitive abilities. This study uses the Kemmis & Taggart class action research method (PTK) which consists of four components, namely: planning, action, observation (observation) and reflection. The results of the study found that children's cognitive abilities experienced a very good improvement. From the initial condition, it reached 1.6 categories began to develop (MB) with a percentage of 0% and showed the undeveloped category (BB). In the first cycle, the average rose to 3.3 categories of developing as expected (BSH) with a percentage of 40% of categories starting to develop (MB). In cycle II the average increased again to 3.8 very well developed category (BSB) with the percentage to 90% and showed very well developed category (BSB). Children's cognitive ability from cycle I to cycle II increased by 0.5 with a percentage increase of 50%. According to this, it can be concluded that the talking stick method can improve children's cognitive abilities. Research benefits The benefits of this research are in order to improve children's cognitive abilities.
