Utilization of Social Media for UMKM Desa Bugel dan UMKM Desa Hariang

Community Service (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) is one of the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi that must be carried out by academician. This activity was expected to improve academicians’ skills and abilities to address problems in society. The service was carried out to provide people’s understanding, especially people of Bugel and Hariang Village, of the importance of using sosial media as a means of promoting village’s potentials both in terms of their business potentials (UMKM) and ecotourism in order to be noticed by the public. To arise the effectiveness of sosial media, the enterpreneneurs needed to be coached in terms of how to copywrite and how to manage sosial medias, as well as how to deal with sosial media ethically for stakeholders in order the village’s potentials could be promoted online. During the service, the participants believed that sosial media promotion could be implemented to increase the exposure of their business and ecotourism potentials. Further coaching was needed, particularly in improving the ability of sosial media management.
