Abstract

In early 2024, Sumedang city faced a devastating earthquake, damaging hundreds of buildings. In facing earthquake disasters, community preparedness is necessary as a form of self-protection. Through Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik (KKN-T) of Sebelas April University, students tackle village issues, including earthquake mitigation. This research aims to assess the preparedness of Cikadu Village, Situraja District, Sumedang Regency, in facing earthquake natural disasters. Assisted by the Sky Volunteer & Fly for Humanity team, KKN-T students use drones to identify earthquake-prone areas prone to landslides. Findings indicate RW 01 and RW 02 in Cikadu Village are vulnerable due to their proximity to cliffs. Things to be considered include: 1) Septic tank maintenance; 2) Drainage construction; 3) Waste management, and 4) Planting vegetation. Meanwhile, for earthquake disaster mitigation, there are several things that need to be considered by the people in Cikadu Village, including 1) Do not panic; 2) Protect your head; 3) Find a safe place (stay away from buildings), and 4) Record important numbers and seek valid information. In this socialization, there are still people who do not fully understand earthquake disaster mitigation. Therefore, broader socialization regarding earthquake disasters is needed so that the impacts of future earthquakes can be reduced.
