Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to grow and develop in toddlers due to chronic
malnutrition, especially in the first 1,000 days of life. Stunting is a chronic
nutritional problem whose main cause is lack of nutritional intake for a long
time, which disrupts children's growth, development and health. One of the
efforts made by the government to deal with stunting is the First 1000 Days of
Life movement. Objective: This community service is to identify and increase
community empowerment efforts in creating a healthy, nutritionally aware
generation that is free of stunting through 1000 HPK activities. The target
population for this community service is residents of Kaduwulung Village who
have 20 children under five, 15 children under five, and 10 Posyandu cadres.
The method used is community empowerment through measuring the
nutritional status of children under five based on PB/U, counseling and
providing additional food. . The result of this implementation is that from
examining the nutritional status of toddlers, it is known that the number of
toddlers in the normal category is 20 children (50%), the ideal 80% category
is 3 children (10%), and the short category is 12 children (40%). From outreach
activities on stunting prevention, the audience's knowledge level increased by
75%. Conclusion: community empowerment activities use effective outreach
methods to prevent stunting and create a healthy, strong and nutritionally
aware generation.
