Edukasi Pengelolaan Sampah Berbasis Masyarakat Melalui Pendirian Bank Sampah di Desa Gunasari, Sumedang

Abstract

The waste problem is a serious problem that is often found in various regions. Waste that is not managed properly will have various negative impacts on the environment, namely environmental pollution, damaging the ecosystem, and causing flooding. This waste problem is also found in Gunasari Village. Based on the results of observations, the awareness of the Gunasari Village community regarding the importance of managing waste properly is still low. This can be seen from the large number of people who litter, such as in rivers, gardens, on the edge of public cemeteries, etc. Therefore, efforts are needed to overcome this problem, one of which is by providing education on waste management through the establishment of a waste bank in collaboration with PT. Bank Sampah Induk Sumedang. The purpose of this community service is to increase public awareness of the dangers of waste, how to manage it and make waste one of their sources of income. This community service program is carried out using education, discussion, training and collaborative project methods.
