This research aims to determine the increase in students' mathematical problem solving abilities by using the Logan Avenue Problem Solving (LAPS)-Heuristic learning model and to determine students' attitudes towards mathematics learning by obtaining the LAPS-Heuristic learning model. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental. The research was carried out at SMAN Jatinunggal with research samples from class XI MIPA 3 as the experimental class and class XI MIPA 4 as the control class. The instruments in this research were tests of mathematical problem solving abilities and non-tests in the form of student attitude questionnaires. Based on the results of data analysis of the gain index scores using the Mann Whitney test at a significance level of 5%, the values obtained Z_table=1.96 and Z_(count)=-3.729 are outside the area of acceptance of the H_0 value. This states that there is a difference in increasing students' mathematical problem solving abilities between those who receive the LAPS-Heuristic learning model and students who receive the conventional learning model. Based on the processing of student attitude questionnaire data, the results of the questionnaire analysis show that the average questionnaire score in the experimental class is 3.70. Based on the established criteria, the average value is included in the positive category.
