Amidst the demands of the times, teachers must be innovative in selecting learning materials that not only convey knowledge but also instill moral values. Folklore is one of the local traditions that contain values that are relevant to the formation of students attitudes and behavior. This study aims to analyze the character values contained in folklore in Sumedang Regency and examine its potential as an alternative to literary learning in elementary schools. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data obtained through documentation studies of personal documents, in the form of folklore analyzed from the folklore of the Origin of Sumedang City in the book entitled Serial Babad Sumedang by Tatang Sobana and the folklore of Sasakala Cadas Pangeran in the book entitled Sasakala Cadas Pangeran by Aan Merdeka Permana. The results of the study indicate that these folklores contain character values such as religious, tolerance, communicative, national spirit or nationalism, responsibility, curiosity, love of peace, social care, and respect for achievement. These values can be integrated into literature learning in elementary schools as an effort to implement character education. Furthermore, folktales can be used as an alternative means of literature learning in elementary schools, one of which is through digital comics. Therefore, folktales in Sumedang Regency have great potential as alternative literature learning materials in elementary schools, not only developing students literacy skills but also instilling character and cultural values in a more contextual manner.

2025-07-30T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Sebelas April Elementary Educationhttps://ejournal.lppmunsap.org/index.php/saee/article/view/2099PENGARUH MODEL PROJECT BASED LEARNING (PJBL) BERBANTUAN MEDIA LAPBOOK TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN IPAS MATERI INDONESIAKU KAYA HAYATINYA2025-07-23T10:56:49+08:00Desty Fitri Nurlatiffitrinurlatif07@gmail.comAulia Akbarauliakbar_fkip@unsap.ac.idAvini Martiniavinimartini84@gmail.com

This research is motivated by the low creative thinking ability in the subject of science and natural sciences of grade V students of SDN Cibodas I, Tanjungkerta District, Sumedang Regency in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. This is caused by the learning approach that is still teacher-centered, with lecture methods, memorization, and assignments, so that students' active involvement in the learning process is still low. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by flash cards on students' understanding of the concept of IPAS. The method used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were all fourth-grade students of SDN Ancol, Darmaraja District, Sumedang Regency, a total of 15 students, who were taken using a saturated sampling technique. The data collection instrument used a test of understanding the concept of IPAS. The results showed an increase in the average score of understanding the concept of IPAS from 77.3 (low category) to 82.7 (high category) after the application of the PBL model assisted by flash cards. Hypothesis testing with t-test produces t_count = -2.4736 and t_table = 1.701, so H_0 is rejected and H_1 is accepted. The sample consisted of 27 students from class IV-B of SDN Sindang IV, including 13 boys and 14 girls. The research instrument used was a multiple-choice test to measure students’ mathematical conceptual understanding. Data analysis was carried out using statistical tests with the assistance of SPSS23. The results showed that the average pretest score was 59.62, while the average posttest score was 77.77. The normality test using Shapiro-Wilk indicated that the data were normally distributed, with a significance value of 0.081 for the pretest and 0.98 for the posttest (both greater than 0.05).
