Abstract

The Government of Sakurjaya Village had formed Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes – Village-owned Enterprises) as an economic powerhouse throughout the village. However, its development was still insignificant due to limited funds from the Village Government, causing some of the planned programs had not been realized yet. The purpose of this study was to find out the extent to which the implementation of the Village-owned Enterprise (BUMDes) program in Sakurjaya Village, Ujungjaya District, Sumedang Regency. This research applied descriptive qualitative method. The data was collected through interview, observation, literature study, and documentation. The data analysis utilized inductive analysis. The results of the study indicated that the implementation of BUMDes program generally had not taken place at all, because it was constrained by funding that had not been disbursed from the Village Government. However, there was an existing tourism potential in the Jati Satim Forest area in Cikuleu Hamlet, Sakurjaya Village, which could be managed by BUMDes. The program carried out for BUMDes was to make a proposal for funding which was submitted to DISPARBUDPORA afterwards so that the Jati Satim tourism potential could be quickly realized. Besides, BUMDes should also develop an administrative format to support BUMDes administration
