Abstract

This research is motivated by the low activity and social studies learning outcomes on the subject matter of independence. These problems arise because they are less creative and innovative in using media when learning takes place and the methods used are still classical in nature. During the learning process students are not actively seen. Efforts have been made to overcome these problems by using one of the learning media which is thought to be able to increase student social studies activities and learning outcomes including Media Wordwall. The purpose of this study was to use the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with the Kemmis and Mc design. Tanggart, namely a cycle model that is carried out repeatedly and continuously. The instrument used in this study was the activity observation sheet and student learning outcomes. After using the Wordwall learning media, students' abilities experienced an increase in the initial data, the number of students who were declared complete in learning was only 5 students or 25% out of 20 students. After the implementation of the first cycle, the number of students who were declared complete in learning increased to 8 students or 40% of 20 students. Furthermore, in cycle II the number of students who were declared complete increased to 100%. Thus, the use of wordwall media can increase the activity and learning outcomes of class V SDN Pangluyu, Cisitu District, Sumedang Regency in social studies subject material for events filling independence.
