Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in science learning in class IV. This is because students tend to be passive in learning, so it is necessary to make efforts in learning, one of which is the use of a make a match type of cooperative learning model. This study aims to describe the influence and responses of students in the use of the make a match type of cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes. The use of cooperative learning model type make a match seen from the pretest results obtained an average of 51.18 while the posttest results obtained an average of 74.54. Based on the results of the t-test, it was found that tcount (8.867) ≥  ttable (1.745) which states that there is an influence on student learning outcomes after being treated with the make a match type of cooperative learning model and the magnitude of the effect is 2.03 using the effect size calculation. It is also seen from the average number of student scores on the questionnaire is 79.3 and the total average is 4.66. Because t = 4.66 lies between the interval 3 < xt ≤ 5, according to the likert scale criteria it is in the positive category. So it can be concluded that students' responses are positive towards science learning by using the make a match type of cooperative learning model.
