PENGARUH PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DISCOVERY LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA MATERI SIKLUS AIR

Learning activities are the core process of education. Learning activities are a forum that will produce students who have critical thinking skills. The ability to think critically has become a demand of all subjects including Natural Sciences (IPA). Discovery learning learning model is a model that can provide opportunities for students to be actively involved in learning. So this model can support students to have critical thinking skills in science learning.This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the significant average difference between the scores before and after the application of the discovery learning model to the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students of science learning on water cycle materials at SDN Karanganyar. The research method used is an experiment with a pre-experimental type and a one group pretest-posttest research design. Data processing carried out in this study is the Liliefors test and t test.Based on the research and data calculations that have been carried out, the data is normally distributed and based on the results of hypothesis testing there is a significant average difference on students' critical thinking skills. This is evidenced by the calculations and data analysis carried out to obtain tcount 4.67 and ttable 2.10. This means that tcount > ttable, then Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. Because there is a significant average difference, it can be concluded that the discovery learning model has an effect on students' critical thinking skills in learning science for class V water cycle material at SDN Karanganyar.
