Abstract

The research was motivated by the low motivation and ability of HOTS  students to material human interaction with their environment in class V at SDN Wanasari II. To increase HOTS motivation and skills, teachers must create reflective models, strategies, methods, techniques, and media. One effort that can be made is to apply the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) learning model with the help of Flower Question Card Media. This research aims to describe increasing student motivation and HOTS abilities in social studies learning by implementing the RADEC learning model assisted by the flower question card media. The method used is the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method which adapts Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The model uses a spiral through stages starting from palling, action, observation, and reflection. This research was located at SDN Wanasari II, Surian District, Sumedang Regency, with the research subjects being 12 students consisting of 7 boys and 5 girls. The instruments used to collect data were observation sheets for students' learning motivation during learning activities, as well as test sheets used to obtain an overview of the results of student abilities. Based on the result of usage data processing, it can be concluded that the RADEC learning model assisted by flower question card media can increase HOTS motivation and abilities. In cycle I the percentage of learning motivation reached 83% and in cycle II it increased to 100%. In terms of HOTS ability, in cycle I students who completed their studies reached 83% with an average score of 80, and in cycle II this increased to 100% of students who completed their studies with an average score of 87,9%
