Abstract

This research was motivated by the low activity and learning outcomes of students in learning science material changes in the form of objects. One way is expected to improve activities and learning outcomes by applying the demonstration method. The goal to be achieved in this research is to determine the increase in student activities and learning outcomes in science learning material for changing the form of objects with the demonstration method in class V of SDN Pangluyu, Cisitu District, Sumedang Regency, for the 2021/2022 academic year. The research design used is a class action research design (PTK). The data collection techniques used are observation and test. Based on the results of the research, the authors obtained data on the increase in student learning activity. In the initial data, student learning activities with good criteria reached 25%, Cycle I 31%, and in Cycle II 87%. In addition to student learning activities, the authors also obtained data on improving student learning outcomes. Preliminary data showed that there were 13% of students who were declared complete, in cycle I to 56%, then in cycle II it increased to 87% of students were declared complete. This proves that the application of the demonstration method can increase student activities and learning outcomes in learning science material changes in the form of objects.
