Abstract

Social interaction is a major part of human life. In everyday life, every human being carries out a continuous interaction process. Just like in a story in a literary work, there are various patterns of social interaction that exist between characters. This process occurs in various domains, whether in the realm of friends, family or society. This interaction produces various kinds of social behavior patterns. This literary sociology research aims to describe the social interactions between characters in the novel Si Anak Savana by Tere Liye, as well as its suitability as learning material for literary appreciation in high school. To understand the interaction patterns that occur between characters, researchers analyze them using intrinsic studies and literary sociology. The results obtained from this research are, 1) the novel structure contained in the novel Si Anak Savana by Tere Liye includes characters, plot, theme, setting and message; 2) the patterns of social interaction contained in the novel Si Anak Savana by Tere Liye include social relationships which include relationships between individuals, individuals (someone) with groups, and groups with groups that occur around the Dopu village community. There are 3 forms of social interaction patterns in the novel Si Anak Savana by Tere Liye. Based on the structure and patterns of social interaction contained in the novel Si Anak Savana by Tere Liye, the novel Si Anak Savana by Tere Liye is suitable as learning material for literary appreciation in high school.
