Learning objectives are sometimes not always well achieved. This can be seen from the results obtained by students, especially those related to aspects of speaking skills. The problem that exists is the lack of special action in delivering material from teachers to students. To improve speaking skills, teachers need special formulations and design effective strategies, methods, techniques, media, approaches, and learning models to improve these skills. One effort that can be made is to use flat opaque picture media when studying idol figures.Based on the results of the data analysis, it was proven that the results of the observations made by the Indonesian language teacher showed that the activities had been carried out in accordance with the flat opaque picture media learning steps contained in the lesson plan. Students' responses to learning to tell about idol characters using flat opaque picture media were included in the positive category. Students responded in agreement with all positive statements and expressed disagreement with all negative statements given in the questionnaire. The results of learning to tell about idol characters using flat opaque picture media for class VII-A students at SMPN 1 Sumedang in the 2015/2016 academic year are relatively high.Downloads
