KAJIAN NILAI BUDAYA DAN ASPEK MORALITAS DALAM NOVEL HARISBAYA BERSUAMI 2 RAJA KARYA E. ROKAJAT ASURA

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of public awareness of culture and history, especially novels whose stories are original from their own regions which are now increasingly forgotten. This study aims to describe cultural values ​​and aspects of morality with the method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this study used text analysis techniques and document studies. Researchers conducted data analysis using instruments in the form of documentation instruments, it is known that Harisbaya Bersuami 2 Raja novel by E. Rokajat Asura has cultural values ​​and aspects of morality. The total number of cultural values ​​is 13 data, while the total value of the morality aspect is 22 data. The novel tell the love story of Prabu Geusan Ulun with Queen Harisbaya, resulting in a split between Sumedang Larang and Cirebon. This is in accordance with the historical evidence included in the Sumedang chronicle and several articles. In addition, this novel is included in the historical novel because it fulfills the characteristics and is based on a true story, although there is an author's imagination regarding the setting, the development of the atmosphere, and the dialogue which is not actually found in historical evidence. Based on the results of the data analysis of cultural values ​​and aspects of morality, it can be concluded that the cultural values ​​and aspects of morality contained in the novel are worthy of being used as learning materials for literary appreciation in high school.
