Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of public awareness of culture anThe lack of interest of students in writing activities, especially writing poetry occurs because in learning to write poetry, students have difficulty finding the right choice of words (diction), imagery, and language styles that match the object at hand, and they are often confused about choosing and looking for options. new word. Therefore, teachers need to create solutions by choosing a varied and innovative learning media. One of the efforts that can be done to improve students' poetry writing skills is by using the Indonesian Thesaurus application as a media. This study aims to describe the preparation, process, and results of learning to write poetry using the Indonesian Thesaurus application as a media. The author analyzed the data with one treatment statistical test. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental with qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of this study indicate that the preparation and learning process for writing poetry using the Indonesian Thesaurus application media has been made and is running well. The results of learning to write poetry using the Thesaurus Indonesia application media are high. This is evidenced by the results of the z-test calculation which shows that zcount = 0.11 lies within the limit of the interval to or       -2,33 0,11 2,33. It is also supported by an average score of 84.7 and belongs to the good category. Thus, it can be said that the Thesaurus Indonesia application media has a high level of effectiveness when used in learning to write poetry in class X students of MAN 2 Sumedang in the 2021/2022 school year.
