Abstract

This research was motivated by the low listening and speaking abilities of students in Indonesian language storytelling subjects. One effort that can be made to improve listening and speaking skills is to use animated film media. The use of animated film media is one strategy to improve Indonesian listening and speaking skills in elementary schools. This research aims to determine the improvement in listening and speaking skills of third grade students. This research is classroom action research using the Kemmis and Taggart model. This model consists of planning, action, observation and reflection stages. The subjects of this research were 25 class III students at SD Negeri Parakanmuncang III. The data collection instruments used in this research were written test techniques and oral tests. The data analysis technique for this research is to look for the average results of students' listening and speaking abilities in each cycle. The average increase in students' listening ability in the initial condition was 65.8, in cycle I it increased to 74.4, then in cycle II it increased to 80.8. Meanwhile, the average increase in students' speaking ability in the initial condition was 64.44, in cycle I it increased to 722.24, then in cycle II it increased to 79.4.
